Since the stud was established ewes were purchased from Mr Deon Barkhuizen (Uniondale) and at the sale of the Careysbrook Stud (Jansenville). Rams were purchased from Mr Clive van Hasselt (Prince Albert). Both Skoongesig and the reserve 6-tooth champion ram were bred out of the Deon Barkhuizen and Clive van Hasselt combination. Mr Cassie Carstens from CMW (Willowmore) is the stud advisor. Students and staff who are involved with the stud wish to express their sincere gratitude for his inputs.
